Tuniq TR-1 Thermal Material Remover
For those that are still using the good old bottle of isopropyl alcohol for getting thermal grease off your CPUs and coolers, Tuniq has released a new product for you to use instead. There are several companies that have similar products available and I have used a few of those. We are not going to go into an evaluation of the performance of this type of product. To be honest you would need a microscope to see which one removed the most compound and the performance is very very neglidgeable from one to another. Rather, we just wanted to get the word out that Tuniq has this product available.

I cleaned several CPUs and coolers with the TR-1 and it worked quite well. Compared to other cleaners I have used, it worked similar. However with TR-1 being only a single step cleaner; it was nice to not have to clean the item and then treat it with a second product. TR-1 comes in a 30 ml bottle and only requires a few drops per application, so it should last you a long time.
Overall Tuniq has produced another good product and if you are in the group that doen’t like to use an old bottle of alcohol to clean your gear, go ahead and give Tuniq TR-1 a try.
